What is Mein Spartopf?
Mein Spartopf is a cashback service: when you shop online via Mein Spartopf, you get part of the commission the shop pays back as real money, not as points or vouchers. The service is run by Monsen AS in Bergen, Norway, a country in the European Economic Area where the GDPR applies unchanged.
Does Mein Spartopf cost anything?
No, Mein Spartopf is free, with no subscription and no notice period. You pay exactly the same price as if you went straight to the shop, and the cashback comes on top. Mein Spartopf lives on the commission the shop pays for the sale, and passes part of it on to you.
Do I need a discount code?
No. Cashback at Mein Spartopf works without a discount code: you click through to the shop via Mein Spartopf and pay there as usual with your own card. The purchase is registered automatically, with no code and no receipt to send in. Mein Spartopf never sees your card details and does not store them.
How do I sign up?
At Mein Spartopf you sign up with your email address or your Google account. Nothing more is needed: no separate app, no card, and no identity card or electronic ID function to open an account. You can log out and delete your account yourself at any time.
How much cashback do I get?
At Mein Spartopf, half of the shops give between 5 and 14% of the purchase value back; some pay a fixed amount in euros instead. The rate depends on the shop and is always shown on the partner page before you click through, so you know what you get before you pay.
When do I get my money?
After your purchase the shop reports the sale to Mein Spartopf, and the amount first appears as "pending" in your account. While the goods can still be returned, the sale is not final. The confirmation usually arrives within 30 days and can take as long as 90 days; after that the amount is ready for payout.
How is the money paid out?
Mein Spartopf pays out through a Revolut payment link: you receive the link and enter your own details there. We never ask for your IBAN, neither by email nor in the chat, and we do not store it either. You can withdraw as soon as your balance is at least 10 €.
Do I have to pay tax on cashback?
Cashback from Mein Spartopf is a discount on your own purchase and not income: you get part of what you spent yourself back. What that means in practice depends on your personal circumstances. Mein Spartopf is not a tax adviser, so ask your tax adviser or your local tax office if you are in doubt.
